Starting a Food business
Setting up a food business can be a daunting experience. Not only do you need to consider tax, insurance,  rates etc but you also need to meet food hygiene legislation.
To make it a little easier we have compiled a brief guide to meeting food hygiene legislation when starting up your new food business.
The main food hygiene legislation that applies to all small food business in the UK are The Food Hygiene (England) Regulation 2006 (and the equivalent regulations in Scotland, wales and Northern Ireland) and Regulation 852 (EC) No.852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs.
They set out the basic hygiene requirements for all areas of your new business.
So where do you start?

It remains the food business operators responsibilities to check how the law applies to them in practice and ensure any specific requirements are met.
